Worry and Stress

We all do it.  It doesn't matter if your a nervous person or not: you do it.  Worrying is not what God has intended for us to do.  Sometimes worrying is unavoidable, but a lot of the time it isn't.  I'm going to give you a few ways to counteract worry and stress.
Worry and stress is not only not what God intended for us, it's not good on your overall heath, either.  It can cause a rise in blood pressure; it gives you headaches; and it causes heart problems, depression, and anxiety.  Nobody wants any of those.  Hopefully these tips will help you.
~ Pray about it- I know we have said this many times on our blog posts, but we really stand behind it. When you put things before the Lord, He will help you.  When you pray it doesn't have to be in any certain place or time; it can be anywhere.  God wants you to talk to Him and have a relationship with Him.  When you pray it doesn't have to be super formal. Just pretend your talking to a friend.  This is what the Bible says about prayer~ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God-  Philippians 4:6. God wants you to talk to Him and make you requests known to Him.
~Take a bath- Get a nice warm bath going, turn on your favorite music, put a bath bomb in the tub, and you will be so relaxed you won't be worrying about a thing.  If you don't have a bath bomb, put a couple of drops of lavender oil in the water, and that will be just as good.  This will take your mind off of everything.
~ Read your Bible- I know we've talked about this A LOT before but that's just how much we stand behind it.  When you you read your Bible it will give you a sense of peace that you need when your stressed out and worried.  Just go to a quiet place and work on a Bible study or just read your Bible.  God has that book for you to learn from, and when you  put that in you heart it will give you peace when you are worried.  Here is what the Bible says about it~ Your word is lamp to my feet and a light to my path -Psalms 119:105.  God's =Book is there to be a light in your life, and when you read the Bible it will bring you knowledge and strength to overcome your worries.
~Do a hobby that relaxes you- Maybe crack open a good book, pull out those knitting needles, or take out that camera of yours.  Whatever hobby takes your mind off of everything.  Just turn on that music and do your thing.
Hopefully these help you with your worries and stress.  I know being worried and stressed is a hard to avoid when you're in school and things, but you can do it with God's help.  Here is what the Bible says about worry~ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding , will guard your heart with Jesus Christ -Philippians 4:6-7. God wants you to pray about what worries you. Have a great week!!
